The production of Lapitec takes place in the 13,000m2 premises in Treviso, Italy. The exact production process remains confidential and there is an area of the factory in which only a handful of individuals are allowed.
The process begins with an extremely refined powder which contains 100% natural minerals found in granites and porcelain. These minerals then undergo a process of atomic diffusion which includes firing at temperatures of 1200°C. Even prior to firing the slabs are stable enough to be handled vertically.
The different finishes are created at various stages in the production – the textured finishes, Vesuvio and Fossil, are produced before firing whereas the Satin and Lux finishes are produced with traditional stone working machinery.
Lapitec is made from 100% natural minerals without the use of any resins or binding agents.
Lapitec is imporous and is therefore water resistant. Ideal for bathrooms or pool surrounds.
The Lapitec collection is available in slab sizes of 3365 x 1500mm.
Due to Lapitec’s inherent density, it can withstand forces above and beyond it’s predecessors – providing the solid surface with longevity.
The beautiful and natural colours from the Lapitec collection will remain the same over time and will never fade, even with continued exposure to UV light.
Lapitec slabs are full bodied and as such composition, physical and visual properties are consistent throughout.
The beauty of Lapitec is that it’s engineered for life – even at only 12mm thick, Lapitec is one of the strongest hard surface materials on the market.
Complete resistance and protection against acids and alkali, leaving you with the confidence of knowing that any cleaning, spillages or mishaps will not effect your Lapitec surfaces.
